B'nei Mitzvah

Here at CBS, we are just small enough for each student in the Bar/Bat Mitzvah year to meet individually with the Rabbi twice a week along with Rabbi Rose, learning Hebrew, Torah cantillation, Prayers, Theology, Heritage and more.  This kind of personal attention insures both a depth of learning and a process individualized for each student and their family.

Requirements include a Tzedukkah / social action project as well as a temple focused project emphasizing Jewish joy in community.  Kids receive guidance and practice leading services, as well as in writing and delivering their Davar Torah.

Families are included in the circle of growth through intergenerational interviews and prayer preparation.

Grounded in Jewish tradition, with the Rabbi, each student and their family crafts a celebratory service unique to themselves in the context of a loving and supportive Jewish community.
